FROM TRADITIONAL CRAFTS TO CONTEMPORARY BAGS

We source vintage tapestries. Handmade embroidery on canvas, mostly from the 1970s and 1980s. The themes vary but the embroidered scenes are mostly kitsch. We love the challenge of transforming forgotten hours of handstitched embroidery into exceptional, one of a kind bags. We carefully remove these little works of art from the frame and wash them before the fun of matching begins. For a Bazar bag, multiple tapestries are skillfully combined into a harmonious whole. Then comes the assembly: stitching pieces together with the lining and the inner pocket. Our lining fabric is a cotton from a top fashion house's overstock.
With the smaller tapestries and leftovers we make unique pouches.
